Good work! I never thought the Soviet Union was provided with these, I thought they had a Yak model veeeery similar to the P40... Everyday we learn something new I guess...
Yeah, they used P-40s for the first few years of the war at least. They had a lot more P-39 Aircobras though.
I remember hearing some time ago,that,the Russians still have a P-40 and P-39 on display in their war history mueseum. During WWII,the U.S. ,with their Lend Lease program,helped the British,and,Russians with equipment.
I don't doubt it. Evidently even during the worst parts of the Cold War, you could buy P-40 model airplane kits in Nationalist Chinese markings in the Peoples' Republic of China, because those planes were flown by American mercenary pilots (secretly at the time backed by the US gov't). "The enemy of my enemy" and all.
